I grew up in Scandinavia, in a homogenous, materially wealthy, but also rather conformist society with little room for the authentic and eccentric. Later, during my near-decade studies and work in Scotland I had the opportunity to delve deeper into various subcultures and states of mind, whilst growing more inspired and persuaded by the experiential and relational layers within psychology and, particularly, in psychotherapy.
In Berlin I've expanded my therapy work through training in psychedelic therapy, and have co-facilitated psychedelic integration workshops alongside my private practice, which is my main focus. I feel privileged to encounter individuals in the midst of their own particular challenges and desire for change, where creativity, self-trust and resilience seem almost destined to emerge, sometimes slowly but surely, other times unexpectedly powerfully.
My impression is consistently that people indeed have a strong inner sense of direction and source of nurture, and that this resource often becomes suppressed by our unrecognised interpretations from overwhelming experiences in various past and present relationships. 'Living well', to my mind, includes being able to stay in close and accepting contact with what our whole body is quietly (or loudly) trying to tell us, without adding pressure to this sensitive system. Exploring and integrating this inner depth can be an effective way to find a stronger sense of connection, meaning and agency in our daily experiencing, with room for a wide range of emotions and nuance
My approach is to stay close to the moment-to-moment experience - 'tracking' your process, both in order to understand your particular world and also to promote self-awareness by offering non-judgmental reflections. I see myself as an intrinsic part of the therapeutic relationship, and strive to communicate any hunches, intuitions and sensations that appear to me as relevant for you to hear. As a therapist valuing relational congruence I stay humble to my limitations in knowing what's ultimately right for you, and yet I feel fully committed in the potential to co-create a unique and trusting environment for you to develop a richer and more self-fulfilled way of being. I'll encourage you to set the direction and pace of our work - my agenda is first and foremost to meet you exactly where you are and offer genuine acceptance along empathic curiosity
